Sears on Thursday debuts its “Fantastic Fan Garage” promotion, which ties consumer tool purchases through June 17 to its NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series sponsorship.

The timing coincides with Father’s Day tool buying and several big NASCAR races. Sears’ Craftsman tools are the Official Tools of NASCAR, CART and NHRA.

“We know that car enthusiasts like racing and use Craftsman tools, so the prize package includes everything a do-it-yourselfer would put on a wish list to keep up the car and keep up with the races,” said John Lebbad, Sears’ director of event marketing and sales promotion.
