San Antonio’s Best and Brightest

DALLAS Toolbox Studios, The Clockwork Group and The Thompson Agency were among the big winners at the San Antonio Chapter of the American Advertising Federation’s Addy awards banquet on Saturday.

Toolbox received nine gold, 11 silver, and three bronze awards, in addition to receiving the best of show for its poster campaign promoting the competition. Toolbox used a “freak show theme” to compare the ad industry with an early 20th century traveling circus.

Clockwork picked up six gold, six silver and two bronze awards. Thompson won five gold, two silver and four bronze awards.

Other wins of note: In the category of regional/national television campaign for consumer services, Bromley Communications earned the gold for its American Legacy Foundation work. Lindholm Townsend also received a gold for its work on behalf of the Time Warner Texas Marketing Co-op. The silver went to Garcia 360 for its Centers for Disease Control and Prevention campaign.

Thompson’s consumer magazine campaign for the San Antonio Water System was recognized with a gold award.

A total of 120 Addy awards in 16 categories were presented to 29 local firms at the event, which was held at the Adam’s Mark Hotel in San Antonio. There were 467 entries submitted to this year’s competition.

Gold winners will compete at the regional level later this year.
