Saatchi & Saatchi New York CEO Mary Baglivo has tapped Rob Moorman, a consultant and former colleague at Arnold, to steer new-business-development efforts as chief marketing officer—Baglivo’s first big hire since she took the shop’s reins in October.

Moorman, 50, who starts today and reports to Baglivo, spent the last eight months at search consultancy Rojek Consulting Group, for which he opened a New York office. Before that, he was evp of business development at Havas’ Arnold in New York, where he worked with then-president Baglivo.

“Rob’s the real thing—he has got a proven track record,” said Baglivo, citing his “amazing way of rallying the entire agency, because it really takes a village [to win business].”

At Arnold, Moorman help land clients such as Pfizer’s Relpax ($30 million) and Bermuda tourism ($10 million).
