Saab Installs Brancheau for U.S. Marketing

DETROIT Saab Cars USA has named Jon Brancheau vice president of marketing effective June 1.

He succeeds Hans Krondahl, who has been shifted to global market director, NSO (National Sales Organizations) at Saab Automobile AB.

Saab’s relationship with Lowe, New York, which handles the company’s advertising in the U.S., will not be affected by the management shift, a client representative said. Saab spent about $60 million on ads in 2002, per TNS Media Intelligence/CMR.

Brancheau has been the director of brand marketing for GM Service & Parts Operations, responsible for the development of brand strategies, advertising, sales promotion and event marketing for GM Goodwrench, GM Parts and ACDelco.

At Saab, Brancheau will oversee all activities related to product planning, brand management, pricing, advertising, sales promotion, market research, and customer relationship management for the company’s vehicles in the U.S. He will report to Debra Kelly-Ennis, president and COO of Saab Cars USA.

Krondahl had been vice president of marketing since August 2001. In his new position, effective July 1, Krondahl will report to Jan Ake Jonsson, vice president of sales and marketing. Krondahl will have the direct sales and marketing responsibility for approximately 40 countries in Europe, Eastern Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East, Latin America and South Africa, which have privately-owned Saab distributorships.
