Rubbermaid Taps Berlin Cameron

NEW YORK WPP Group’s Berlin Cameron/Red Cell has won lead creative duties on Rubbermaid, the agency confirmed.

The account moved to the New York agency from Interpublic Group’s McCann Erickson, also in New York, without a review.

The client also moved media duties from IPG’s Universal McCann to WPP’s MindShare.

In a statement, Charlie Robinson, Rubbermaid’s vp of brand management for the food service products North America division, said, “Berlin Cameron’s trademark is its ability to develop effective advertising that has a positive impact on the brands of major companies. I’m looking forward to developing the partnership between Rubbermaid and the agency.”

Rubbermaid, a division of Newell Rubbermaid, is the fourth new client this year for Berlin Cameron. The shop added Safeway, Coca-Cola’s C2 and HSBC earlier in the year.

Berlin Cameron CEO Ewen Cameron said in a statement, “Rubbermaid has a history of innovation and of being a leader in its category. We are thrilled to add a blue-chip company of this pedigree to our roster. We believe we excel in communicating the attributes of this kind of brand in a way that delivers positive results for our client.”

The shop’s other clients include Pernod-Ricard, New York Life, Dasani, Coke Classic, Mello Yello, Nestle Purina, White Wave, Pfizer and the Tasty Baking Co.
