Campbell-Ewald Adver tising and Rootlevel have created a virtual “portal into the past” with the Detroit Historical Museums’ new Web site, www.detroithistorical.org.

Campbell-Ewald Digital, a division of the Warren, Mich., agency, managed the redesign of the entire site, while Rootlevel, a Detroit Web shop, handled back-end programming and development.

Museum executives said they wanted the site’s visitors to expe rience the museums and the “full scope of information and entertainment resources” they offer.

The site strives to do that.
