Red Hat has hired Pile and Co. to oversee its agency search to replace BaylessCronin.
A representative of the Durham, N.C.-based developer of Linux operating systems and software confirmed that the company enlisted the Boston search firm to replace the Atlanta shop, which resigned the account a few weeks ago.
The spokesperson for Red Hat declined to place a dollar figure on the account, which was originally estimated at $20 million. To date, ad spending has been significantly less than that amount.
“We’re looking for a successful, sophisticated agency that understands the unique [branding opportunities] of Red Hat,” the spokesperson said.
