Razorfish Offers Buyout Deals To Some Staffers

Razorfish, the struggling i-shop that last month cut 20 percent of its staff, has instituted a “voluntary termination” program designed to further reduce payroll in three offices.

Eligible employees in Cambridge, Mass., San Francisco and London were asked to decide whether to accept “enhanced” severance packages, a Razorfish spokesman said. He declined to specify how many workers were expected to leave or the anticipated savings but suggested that people most involved with clients were less likely to be offered buyouts. Severance deals were offered to “kind of put the most human face possible on a difficult situation,” he said.

Last month, Razorfish reported its first-ever loss from operations.
