ATLANTA–Granite Services, a division of General Electric Power Systems, has retained Rawle-Murdy Associates in Charleston, S.C., as its first agency of record.
Annual billings for the account were not disclosed.
Granite Services is a contract labor provider, offering a full complement of workforce talents, including payroll and benefit management, human resources organization and employee recruiting, among other provisions.
According to agency vice president Bruce Murdy, the client has been providing its management services within General Electric, but now wants to offer its know-how to other corporations as well.
‘Because of that they needed some serious strategic planning and guidance, which is our strength and focus,’ Murdy said. ‘We tell people in our presentations that our hands are damn good, but our brains are better. Our job here is to help them launch this company.’
According to Murdy, the fact that Granite has already been offering its range of services within the GE structure will give the client an advantage a startup company in the field would not have.
‘They have the best of both worlds,’ he said. ‘They already have the expertise and the financial backing, which will give them a real leap on the competition.’
Granite is headquartered in Summerville, S.C., and manages three GE divisions: Penpower, Contract Employee Services and Qualified Contractors.
