Rattle Makes a ‘Splash’ With Retailer

BOSTON Splash, a retail division of plumbing supply wholesaler Portland Group, has tapped independent Rattle Advertising for marketing chores.

“We were recommended to Splash by one of our business partners. We were hired following a capabilities presentation which featured case histories for other high-end home products retailers such as Westwood Furniture,” said Sally Murphy, director of client services at Rattle in Somerville, Mass.

Serving the upscale suburban homeowner market, Newton, Mass.-based Splash operates affiliated showrooms in Haverhill and Pocasset, Mass., and Providence, R.I.

Initial ad spending will be in the mid-six figure range, Murphy said.

The work breaks this summer in local media such as The Boston Globe and Boston Magazine, as well as in regional editions of national publications like Elle Decor and Metropolitan Home.

The tagline for the effort, “Make one,” plays off the client’s “Splash” moniker, inviting consumers to visit the stores and do something special in terms of kitchen and bathroom design.

“This is an important win for the agency because it allows us to help the Portland Group take a market leadership position on the retail side of their business, which we believe can be grown to even greater share levels,” Murphy said.
