CHICAGO — Spurned by Lee Garfinkel, Publicis has turned to Saatchi and Saatchi’s London-based executive creative director David Droga to take over as worldwide creative director.

“With David we have a formidable choice,” Publicis Groupe CEO Maurice Levy said. “Young, energetic, talented, considered one of the best of today.”

Levy offered the worldwide creative position to Garfinkel following his Paris-based holding company’s acquisition of Bcom3 in September. Garfinkel was president and chief creative officer at D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, which Publicis has decided to fold.
