Vicki Briand has been appointed media director at Sullivan-St. Clair Marketing and Public Relations. Briand rejoins the Mobile shop from Clear Channel TV, where she spent six months as an account executive. Briand first came to SSC in 2002 as a media planner and buyer.
Adam Pierno has joined independent Off Madison Ave in Tempe as senior art director. He was previously an art director with WPP Group’s JWT, New York.
Omnicom Group’s the Grizzard Agency in Los Angeles has hired Sharon Bills as associate creative director of copy. Prior to joining Grizzard, Bills worked as an independent consultant and writer on campaigns for World Vision, Nokia, Hilton Hotels and KCET-TV, among others.
Atlanta-based Kilgannon has advanced Anamaria McCormack to vp and brand manager. McCormack’s primary role will be to oversee the agency’s SouthernLINC Wireless and Southern Company Human Resources accounts. She joined Kilgannon in October 2004 as a brand manager. The shop has also hired Suzanne Oster and Gabriela Taylor as assistant media planner and assistant brand manager, respectively. Previously, Oster was a media-planning intern at Universal McCann in New York, and Taylor was a marketing coordinator at Images USA in Atlanta.
Brian Nienhaus has joined Havas’ Euro RSCG in Chicago as group account director on Citigroup. He was most recently at Grey in San Francisco.
Portland-based Via has added Jeff Hopper as an art director. He will be responsible for working with clients such as CBS Radio and TD Banknorth. Prior to joining Via, Hopper was an art director at Crowley, Webb and Associates in Buffalo, N.Y., and at Cenergy Communications in East Aurora, N.Y.
Max Koepke has joined Modernista! in Boston as an assistant video editor. Koepke, a Tufts University graduate, was an intern at the independent ad agency.
PJA in Cambridge has hired Courtney Carroll as a studio designer. Carroll joins from Minelli, a branding consultancy in Boston, where she was a senior designer working on the Museum of Science and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
MDC Partners’ Colle + McVoy has hired two copywriters and two art directors. Joining the Minneapolis shop as copywriters are Colin Corcoran, who was most recently at Hunt Adkins, and John Neerland, previously at Olson, both in Minneapolis. Arriving as art directors are Elizabeth Kallstrom, who attended the Miami Ad School in Minneapolis, and Nina Orezzoli, who previously worked at The Foley Group in Minneapolis.
Tug McTighe has been enlisted as associate creative director, and Matt Wegerer as copywriter, at Callahan Creek. Both come to the Kansas City independent from crosstown shop Sullivan Higdon & Sink.
CommonHealth in Parsippany has hired Teri Park as vp, business development; Frank Tirone as business intelligence analyst; Margarita Oganesyan as financial administrator; and Anita Iyengar as Java/ WebSphere portal developer. Solara, CommonHealth’s managed care marketing unit, has hired Michael Strassberg and Michael Zilligen as svps, enterprise leads. Tom Forbes has been hired as an account operations coordinator.
American Business Media has promoted Jean Maddalon to chief operating officer. Maddalon joined ABM in 1999 and was named CFO in December 2002.
Chris O’Neill has been named chairman of the U.S. brand marketing practice at Burson-Marsteller. O’Neill previously was director of worldwide communications and marketing for Octagon Worldwide.
Robert E. Rayfield has been promoted to associate creative director at Eric Mower and Associates in Syracuse. Rayfield joined EMA in 1997 as a senior art director and worked most recently as a creative supervisor. Also at Eric Mower and Associates, Stephanie A. Crockett has been promoted to account supervisor. Crockett joined EMA in May 2004 as a senior account executive.
Tango magazine has hired Savannah Ashour as associate editor. Ashour arrives from Arcade Publishing, where she was assistant editor.
Patrick Benson has joined TargetCast TCM as svp, director of digital marketing. Benson joins from Deutsch, where he was the vp, associate interactive director managing the New York and Los Angeles interactive teams. TargetCast TCM has also hired Lynn Harris as svp, director of human resources. Lynn held a similar position at MediaVest in New York.
SFGT in Philadelphia has assigned David Fox to the newly created position of director of promotional strategy. Previously, Fox was vp and senior account supervisor at Thomas J. Paul in Rydal, where he managed the Dove Chocolate and M&M’s accounts. Before that, he was a principal and held the title of chief brainstormer at PowerPact in Richmond, Va.
Strategic marketing agency Dio in York has appointed Andrew J. Garber as its director of new business.
Rawle Murdy has named Kathe Downs and Claire Gibbons public relations account directors. At the Charleston, shop, Downs and Gibbons will oversee the development and implementation of PR programs and strategies. Prior to joining the agency, Downs owned and managed Downs Online. Gibbons most recently was an account director at Capstrat in Raleigh, N.C. Karen Moran and Patty Lee have been added as account executives. Moran was previously field account manager at Atlanta’s WestWayne; Lee worked on accounts at Stern Advertising in Cleveland. Ivie Parker has become an account coordinator. Parker arrives from Bluestein Custom Vision, where she handled all advertising, marketing and PR activities.
Dallas-based BizCom Associates has installed Leah Templeton and Jacy Cochran as account executives. Templeton and Cochran will each be responsible for overseeing client public relations programs and publicity campaigns. Templeton previously spent five years at local GaylerSmith Co., where she was an account manager and publicist. Cochran most recently was an account executive at Epsilon in Irving.
