PreVision Marketing Taps Dec as CMO

BOSTON PreVision Marketing has named Ken Dec chief marketing officer, a new position.

Dec, 45, joins Lincoln, Mass.-based PreVision after leading strategy and business development at the Boston office of independent agency Via, where his title was strategic principal and his clients included JPMorgan Chase’s BrownCo, Raytheon and Banknorth.

At PreVision, Dec is responsible for running new business. He will not have account oversight but will provide strategic guidance for various clients on an as-needed basis.

“Ken will be responsible for the agency’s brand, thought leadership in its key categories: pharmaceutical and retail, business development and client growth strategies,” a PreVision representative said.

Prior to Via, Dec was president and CEO at Boston’s CGN, where his clients included Charles Schwab, Sheraton Hotels and Reebok. He has also held senior posts at marketing company Epsilon, direct-response shop Rapp Collins and Interpublic Group ad agency Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos.

PreVision clients include Bayer, Pfizer, Stride Rite and Toys R Us.
