Pizza Hut Taps Media Edge

NEW YORK — Pizza Hut has tapped WPP Group’s The Media Edge North America, New York, for a $150 million national planning assignment.

TME already has national buying duties for the TRICON Global Restaurants, which in addition to Pizza Hut, includes KFC and Taco Bell. TME also handles planning for KFC.

The Dallas-based pizza chain selected TME because it was pleased with its past work and decided to expand the relationship, a Pizza Hut representative said. Pizza Hut did not hold a review before awarding the new assignment to TME. Ccreative remains with BBDO, New York.

Along with KFC and Taco Bell, Pizza Hut was spun off from PepsiCo and sold to TRICON in 1997.
