Pile Elevates Neer to Presidency

BOSTON Judy Neer has been named president of consultancy Pile and Co., where she had been a managing partner for the past several years, the company said.

Rick Hooker remains president and CEO of parent organization the Pile Cos., which also houses an executive search group and a freelance placement service called Communications Collaborative.

Neer joined Pile and Co. in 1996 as a senior consultant; in recent years she has helmed the company’s agency selection and evaluation practice, helping to grow that service into one of the busiest and best known in the industry.

“This move is long overdue,” said Hooker. “Her skill and insight, combined with our proven processes have really helped Pile and Co. provide extremely valuable service to our clients.”

Said Neer: “Nearly twenty years ago, Pile and Co. was one of the forces in creating the entire agency selection category. A lot has changed since then and we see numerous opportunities to add capabilities and services that will only further the quality and longevity of client-agency relationships. I’m excited to have the opportunity to continue to guide that evolution.”

Boston-based Pile is currently overseeing agency searches for the $55 million American Express Financial Advisors account and broadcast creative chores on Marshalls’ $35 million business.
