Pile and Co. in Deal with Boston.com

BOSTON-Communications consulting firm Pile and Co. has entered into a co-branding arrangement with Boston.com, the online affiliate of The Boston Globe, and a unit of The New York Times Digital.

In exchange for the right to sell banner advertising, Boston.com now provides access to Pile and Co.’s agency database at www.boston.com/agency search. “They get the banner [revenue], we get the additional traffic … and agencies get more exposure,” said Pile and Co. chairman Skip Pile. The service contains information about 3,000 agencies nationwide, including updated contacts and client lists, as well as work samples. “Marketers can connect with agencies to execute their vision for building innovative interactive advertising programs, and with the integration of the tool into our content areas, users can check out creative portfolios of leading agencies that are in the news,” said Lisa DeSisto, vice president and general manager of Boston.com. Pile said he is looking to ink additional similar deals in the near future.

Boston-based Pile and Co., formed in 1987, is best known for conducting agency reviews, though the company also provides management consulting and executive placement services to clients nationwide.
