With the economy having gone to seed in so many ways, it’s hard to choose the one aspect that merits worrying about most. But a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll asked people to do just that. Forty-seven percent cited inflation, while 19 percent mentioned the mortgage/house-price crisis. Unemployment and high taxes were each cited as chief worry by 13 percent, while just 5 percent pointed to the stock market’s gyrations.

The survey also asked respondents to pick the category whose recent price rises concern them most.
