Phoenix Group Taps Cramer

Cramer-Krasselt has picked up ad duties for the Phoenix Restaurant Group’s 96 Black-eyed Pea restaurants.
Cramer-Krasselt’s Phoenix office won the account, which had been with Laughlin/Constable, Chicago, without a review. The change was made after a new vp of marketing, Randall Barberis, joined the restaurant chain. He wanted an agency based closer to the company’s Scottsdale, Ariz., headquarters.
The account is valued “in the low seven figures,” Barberis said.
Cramer-Krasselt is producing local market ads and will launch a national campaign after Jan. 1, said Brian Landauer, senior vp/gm of the agency’s Phoenix office.
“They are interested in strengthening their brand as well as generating day-to-day traffic for their stores. We’re comfortable multi-tasking,” Landauer said.
The business will be headed by account supervisor Laura Smith, former regional marketing manager for Little Caesars Pizza.
Concentrated in the Southwest but reaching as far as the East Coast, Black-eyed Pea Restaurants serve what Landauer calls “comfort food with a Southern flair.” Cramer-Krasselt has worked for Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and Peter Piper Pizza.
