Last time Deutsch LA looked for a chief creative officer, the agency found its pick in London. This time, the creative chief comes from Boston.

Pete Favat, the longtime creative leader of Arnold in Boston, is heading West to lead the 125-person creative department at Deutsch LA. He starts Oct. 14.

Favat fills a vacancy left by the March exit of Mark Hunter. Hunter, who previously was executive creative director at TBWA\London, held the job for just two years.

At Deutsch, Favat reunites with Volkswagen of America, a client at Arnold from 1995 until 2005.
