Palisades Media to Open Outpost in N.Y.

LOS ANGELES Independent Palisades Media Group will open a New York office tomorrow, according to Bruce Dennler, president and chief operating officer.

Dennler said the outpost will enable Palisades to better service existing clients such as the Weinstein Company, Miramax, IFC Films, Virgin Megastore and MGM Mirage Properties.

The move “will help create a greater national footprint for Palisades,” he said, adding that the new office would allow “timely creative thinking and agile services from both coasts.”

He added, “It will originally be staffed with six people, half coming from the Los Angeles office, namely Andrea Cardamone and Kim Rallo, who will split running the office, and Zan Faruqui. And we’re adding staff for account service and buying soon. Eventually, it will be 8-10 people. The timing’s good and it gives us a beachhead for new business.”

New-business efforts in New York will help expand the roster beyond movie studios. The political group, however, will still be located in Los Angeles, but the New York office should be helpful in servicing clients located in Washington, D.C., he said.

“Business has been good,” said Dennler. “The interactive department in particular has been on a tear since day one. Eventually, there will be an interactive presence in New York, too.”
