OWN&P Hires Wieden’s Kelley

Odiorne Wilde Narraway & Partners has hired Tom Kelley from Wieden & Kennedy as group account director and director of business development for the shop’s West Coast and London offices, a new position. He starts his new job Aug. 30.
“We have spent the past two years building our infrastructure and making key hires to poise us for growth,” said agency president and partner Wayne Buder. “We need someone like Tom to help us be more proactive with new business and take OWN&P to the next level.”
Kelley was an account director and worked on new business at Wieden’s Portland, Ore., headquarters. He spent six years at the agency, and was responsible for overseeing Nike’s domestic ad business. Kelley’s experience with the sports apparel client included the launch of the Michael Jordan shoe line.
Kelley also spent two years establishing and overseeing operations at Wieden’s Tokyo office. There, he worked for clients such as Microsoft.
“I think we can learn a lot from Tom,” said Buder. “He has earned experience with an agency we respect. He could have gone to a bigger agency, but [he said] he was attracted to the entrepreneurial opportunities an agency like OWN&P offers.”
Kelley, who is moving to the Bay Area, was unavailable for comment at press time.
