NEW YORK — Steve Soldano, president and chief operating officer of Publicis and Cordiant Communication’s Optimedia US, is leaving the company. Soldano confirmed that he had resigned yesterday, saying only that “he had reached a personal and professional crossroads” and was looking to take a step back to consider his next move.

Soldano’s resignation comes on the heels of Friday’s announcement that Gene DeWitt, the media shop’s chairman and CEO, was stepping down to join the Syndicated Network Television Association, a trade group that promotes advertising in syndicated programming.
