Is Ingalls embarks on its merger with Holland Mark Martin Edmund, former Ingalls partner and creative director Christine Chamberlin has launched a venture of her own. And she may soon be in the market to hire an agency of record.
Under the aegis of Portal Marketing, Chamberlin and four partners–including her husband, Ted Duquette–have created, an online service designed to guide consumers through the home decorating process.
The service cross-references various home and garden Web sites, offering more than 30 categories and thousands of products and services.

At present, the site has agreements with, high-end flower arranger Calyx & Corolla, home products firm Priorities and others.
Chamberlin, who left Ingalls in 1993 after 16 years, has since run the NorthRidge Marketing Group, a small retail-oriented ad firm in Boxford, Mass., which she will continue to operate.
She plans to grow Portal through venture funding and will soon be seeking agency assistance. Will Ingalls be invited to pitch?
