One.Tel Taps DavisElen in U.S.

Australian telecom carrier One.Tel has appointed DavisElen as its agency of record for its burgeoning U.S. operations.
In Australia, One.Tel offers consumers Internet, mobile phone and international telecommunications services, as well as prepaid phone cards and other services.
Bob Elen, president of the Los Angeles shop, said DavisElen will initially focus its U.S. efforts on One.Tel’s Dial-Around international phone service and phone card business, and handle other services as they are added. “The One.Tel Dial-Around number for domestic and international long-distance service is … up and running, and priced to be the low-cost leader in this growing category,” he said.
Elen recently visited the company’s headquarters in Sydney, and said he was impressed with the scope of its operations and its “enthusiastic, youthful culture.” The agency is developing a campaign that will roll out in California, Colorado, Texas and Florida.
Billings were undisclosed, but Elen said One.Tel could become “one of the agency’s largest” accounts.
One.Tel, with U.S. offices in Long Beach, Calif., has also opened offices in Europe and Asia.
