Olson Engage Nabs Sharp Electronics' Social Business

Sharp Electronics' relationship with Olson is blossoming. The Mahwah, N.J.-based Sharp Electronics Marketing Company of America's (SEMCA) has tapped Olson's social arm, Olson Engage, to handle its social media business. 

The appointment follows Sharp's decision to name Minneapolis-based Olson as its lead agency, responsible for handling creative, digital and design work. The company's 2013 media spend was nearly $2 million, down significantly from 2012's almost $10 million spend, according to Kantar Media. 

"We've been pleased with early results and are excited to expand our relationship with Olson," said Mark Viken, vp of brand marketing for Sharp, in a statement. 

Olson Engage will manage SEMCA's social media and content marketing strategy and execution for all of the company's consumer products in the U.S.,
