Ogilvy’s Seifert Heading to TBWA\C\D

NEW YORK– Shona Seifert, managing director-client services at Ogilvy & Mather in New York, has accepted an offer to become president of the New York office of TBWA\Chiat\Day, sources said. She’s expected to start in early February.

Seifert will assume duties previously held by Carl Johnson, who last spring was promoted to a global post: chief operating officer of TBWA Worldwide. She reports to Tom Carroll, TBWA’s president of the Americas, who recently relocated from Playa del Rey, Calif. to New York.

Johnson has been seeking a new president here since his promotion. A strong background in client services was said to be a key criterion.

At Ogilvy, Seifert recently helped steered the assimilation of AT&T Wireless — a $400 million account that the Playa del Rey office of TBWA\C\D also pitched last year.

It’s unclear who will succeed Seifert at Ogilvy. The agency could not immediately be reached. TBWA\C\D declined comment, and Seifert did not immediately return calls.
