OgilvyInteractive Starts Digital Innovations Group

NEW YORK WPP Group’s OgilvyOne said it has formed a new group at its OgilvyInteractive unit to develop marketing campaigns on new digital platforms like wireless, gaming and interactive television.

Draft Digital veteran Maria Mandel was named director of the Digital Innovations Group at OgilvyInteractive in New York. Mandel was formerly vice president and director of interactive at Interpublic Group’s Draft, where she worked for clients like Jose Cuervo, Johnson & Johnson and Unilever.

Dan Goodman was named executive director of OgilvyInteractive in New York, where he will oversee the Digital Innovations Group. He takes over for Eric Wheeler, who was named executive director of OgilvyInteractive North America, a newly created position. Goodman previously worked as managing director of interactive at Lowe in New York. Wheeler was a co-founder of interactive agency Lot 21.

The Digital Innovations Group includes senior strategist Brendan Berger, who will explore emerging technologies for marketing campaigns.

OgilvyInteractive in December developed the interactive text messaging campaign for the launch of Dove’s “Campaign For Real Beauty.” The push displayed an interactive billboard in Times Square that allowed passersby to vote via text message whether a photo of an everyday woman reflected beauty.
