Ogilvy Acquires AKKA

NEW YORK?-Ogilvy Public Relations has acquired AKKA, a Paris-based public relations firm.

Terms of the deal were undisclosed, but AKKA claims billings of about $3 million, 22 employees and a client roster that includes The Carlyle Group, Deloitte Consulting, Enterprise Ireland, FTSE, Pernod Ricard and Sony. Ogilvy PR currently has healthcare specialists in Paris, who work with clients including Pfizer, Novartis and Johnson & Johnson.

In a statement, Ogilvy PR’s president in Europe, Nick May, said, “France is one of the world’s largest economies, so it’s critical that we have a strong presence there, and in AKKA we have found a partner that meshes perfectly with our global expertise and culture.”

AKKA was founded in 1994 by Jane Goodman and Lorraine d’Huart. The agency name will eventually disappear as its staff is integrated under the Ogilvy PR Worldwide banner.

Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide is headquartered in New York and has offices in 48 markets across North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa.
