Object 9 Helps Louisiana Agencies Regroup

DALLAS Ad agencies and personnel displaced by Hurricane Katrina now have a free job board Web site created in part by agency Object 9.

The site (www.PostKatrinaTalent.org) is designed to grow as jobs open and out-of-work employees seek work, said Branden Lisi, senior partner at Object 9 in Baton Rouge, La.

“Everyone at Object 9 worked around the clock on making certain this resource was available as quickly as possible,” Lisi said. “We chose to focus on the needs of our professional peers. This is where our sphere of influence can have the most impact.”

One of Object 9’s major clients, the Baton Rouge Area Chamber of Commerce, is helping businesses flooded out of New Orleans find new quarters. The population of Baton Rouge, about 65 miles west of New Orleans, has exploded as evacuees and businesses have set up operations in Louisiana’s capital city.

The job site lists organizations that have offered the use of computers to ad personnel to draft resumes. Web site sponsors include the Ad Club of New Orleans, Aparajita’s World, Bitworx, Baton Rouge Ad Fed, Baton Rouge Area Chamber of Commerce, Entrepreneurs’ Organization, Forum 35, software developer 4D, Louisiana State University Continuing Education, Public Relations Association of Louisiana-Baton Rouge, Sales and Marketing Executives International and West Feliciana Community Development Foundation.

In Texas, 41 Texas music events benefiting the victims of Hurricane Katrina are now listed on the EnjoyTexasMusic.com Web site.
