NY Times Launches E-Mail Newsletters

New York Times Digital said Wednesday that its Todays Headlines, a free daily e-mail product featuring headlines from the main sections of NYTimes.com, has surpassed the 1 million mark for unique subscribers.

The news came as NYTimes.com launched three weekly e-mail products: Your Money, Travel Dispatch and Circuits. Each has generated more than 5,000 readers during a two-week soft launch, and a fourth e-mail newsletter, New York Happenings, is scheduled to launch Thursday with 6,000 subscribers, NYTimes.com said.

Scott Meyer, vp and general manager of NYTimes.com, said plans are in the works for additional e-mail products because they “provide our readers with a new way to receive the quality content they’ve come to expect from NYTimes.com and they provide advertisers with an excellent opportunity for one-to-one targeting.”
