Nonbox Contracts StarLink for Media Buying

CHICAGO StarLink, the Starcom MediaVest Group unit that works with small and midsize agencies for media planning and buying, has signed creative boutique nonbox as a new client.

The Chicago media shop’s first work with the creative agency will be to handle national television buying for Infone, a subscription service that combines directory and personal assistance through a toll-free phone number.

Nonbox, which has offices in Portland, Ore., and Milwaukee, has created a new campaign for the Beaverton, Ore.-based company that is currently running on national cable networks such as ESPN, MSNBC and CNN. The campaign, which broke on Labor Day, depicts people using the service to get directions, re-book flights and find phone numbers. “Don’t just make a phone call,” says a voiceover. “Make an Infone call.”

“StarLink brings us national television buying experience,” said Steve Karakas, a managing partner at nonbox, in a statement. “They can use their network connections and relationships to ensure that Infone is getting the best value for their television investment.”
