No Longer A Voyeur

In the early and mid-1990s, when Houston Herstek Favat was riding high in its stylish headquarters at 360 Newbury St. in Boston, certain executives at Gearon Hoffman were known to use binoculars to peer across Massachusetts Avenue and spy on Doug Houston’s ill-fated shop.
As of today, Gearon Hoffman’s 45 employees will no longer be on the outside looking in. The agency is set to move from its 7,500-square- foot office space at 155 Massachusetts Ave. to 14,000-square-foot digs at 360 Newbury St., which also houses Irma S. Mann, Strategic Marketing and Pamet River Partners.
Heater Advertising looked at the locale but chose for now to stay at 6 Edgerly Place in Boston. Agency president Bill Heater, a former colleague of Doug Houston, said he felt “strange” while touring the space and is considering buying a building elsewhere.
