Whoever said coffee maker ads couldn’t be fun . . . or even sexy, hasn’t seen the new campaign for Bunn’s Home Brewing System.
A computer-animation spot from its agency McConnaughy Stein Schmidt Brown, Chicago, shows two institutional coffee makers on a countertop as they ‘eye’ each other and slowly approach each other. As they get closer, the toaster turns red hot, and cups in a cupboard begin to shake. ‘Nine brewing cycles later,’ the two machines part and a sultry voiceover introduces the new offspring.
The campaign is testing in four markets and may be rolled out nationally eventually.
