Nike Exec Chairs Grand Effie Jury

NEW YORK Trevor Edwards, vp, global brand and category management at Nike, will be the Grand Effie jury chair for the 39th annual Effie Awards show, the organization said on Monday.

While the specifics of which shops won what won’t be disclosed until the show here on June 7, the organization did announce that Leo Burnett garnered the most Effies with 11, followed by JWT with nine and DDB with six.

The media agencies with the most wins are OMD with 10, Starcom MediaVest with nine and MindShare with eight.

“The agencies and clients on the Grand Effie jury are leaders in branding strategy, product design, media innovation and technology,” said Linda Cornelius, president of the Effie Awards board of directors and senior partner, managing director, Ogilvy & Mather, New York, in a statement. “The jurists were selected to represent the expanded Effie Awards competition, which celebrates all forms of consumer engagement, as long as results are proven.”

Last year Ogilvy’s “Campaign for Real Beauty” for Unilever’s Dove won the Grand Effie.

The awards honor the year’s most effective advertising.
