Nielsen Business Media Names Crow SVP

NEW YORK Sabrina Crow has been named senior vice president of Nielsen Business Media’s Marketing & Media Group, which houses Adweek, Brandweek, Mediaweek, Editor & Publisher and several other properties, effective today.

Based in New York, Crow replaces Mike Parker, who is leaving the company to pursue a non-business-to-business venture.

In her new role, Crow will oversee all business and editorial operations for the brands, including their related conferences, events and digital products. She will report to Nielsen Business Media COO Greg Farrar.

Crow joined the company in April as vice president of the Marketing & Media Group, and her primary responsibility has been to drive the digital strategy and implementation for the brands. She comes with considerable experience in the field, having most recently been group vice president, managing director for the Reed Business-U.S. Science and Medical portfolio of magazines and Internet brands, where she created digital products such as Webcasts, virtual trade shows and other innovative products.

Prior to that, Crow was CEO of Freedom Magazines International and publisher of Latin Trade, a pan-regional business magazine with Portuguese-, Spanish- and English-language editions, as well as vertical magazines LT Elite and LT BTG. At Knight Ridder, Crow ran a $100-million revenue business as classified advertising director for the The Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald. She began her career at Hanley-Wood in Washington, D.C.

“In the time that she has been here, it has been clear that her vast editorial and business experience in media makes her well suited to steer the Marketing & Media group brands into their future,” said Farrar.

Parker, an 11-year veteran of Nielsen Business Media (itself a unit of the Nielsen Co.), joined the company as senior vice president of sales and marketing and publisher of Mediaweek. His last day with the company is June 15.

Other properties in the Marketing & Media group include the Clio Awards, American Artist and Watson-Guptill.
