BOSTON Tech specialist Applied Communications has sold its public relations division to Next Fifteen Communications Group, the London-based parent of Text 100 and Bite Communications Group.

As part of the deal, Applied’s PR operations will be merged with Bite, which operates a small office in San Francisco. The buy represents an opportunity for Bite to expand its U.S. operations, said Next Fifteen CEO Tim Dyson.

Applied’s PR division will take on the Bite name and bring about 40 staffers.
