New Yorkers Vie for St. Louis Brokerage

NEW YORK Three New York agencies continue to contend for investment brokerage Edward Jones’ $25-30 million advertising account, sources said.

The contenders are Wolf Group, Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos and Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners. Agency teams will fly to the client’s St. Louis offices early next week, where they will receive a strategic assignment before final presentations. A decision is expected at the end of October, sources said.

The St. Louis-based brokerage is searching for an agency to handle consumer advertising, direct-response creative and interactive work in North America and the U.K., said consultant Randy Lindel. He would not provide further details.

Media planning and buying, which is handled by Omnicom Group’s PHD USA, is not part of the review.
