WENHAM, MASS. – Still jubilant after emerging the winner in the BMW review, Mullen last week continued a hot streak which agencies of all sizes would envy. Not only did both client and agency confirm ADWEEK’s report that Mullen had pulled in the $8 million Gitano Group, New York, account, but the agency again finds itself challenging national competition, this time for the $5 million Pulsar wristwatch account. The other contenders are Goodby Berlin/S.F.; The Martin Agency, Richmond, Va.; Jordan, McGrath, Case & Taylor/N.Y.; and Cliff Freeman & Partners/N.Y. AC&R/N.Y. is agency of record. Mullen still insists it is not working for Barry Diller’s QVC Network cable shopping operation, but well-placed sources inside and outside the agency say creative is already under way.
