BOSTON In a move that reflects the growing significance of Mullen’s MediaHub buying and planning operation, the Interpublic Group agency has named Steve Calder to the new position of chief media officer.

He had been evp, executive media director.

Calder joined Mullen in 2003 from AKQA in San Francisco where he served as managing director, leading accounts like CNet, Heinz, Palm and Sony.

He helped the agency reformulate its media services into MediaHub, which launched two years ago and has since added new business from IAC/Interactive Corp.’s
