Associate CD Roper Leaves Crispin Porter
BOSTON–Seeking to strengthen its senior creative ranks, Mullen has hired Tim Roper as vice president, group creative director.
Roper relocates from Crispin Por-ter & Bogusky, Miami, where he served as an associate creative director and helped craft the “Truth” campaign for the state of Florida’s anti-smoking program. Roper said his decision to join Mullen was based on a “good combination of creative opportunity, lifestyle, and the chance to work on national brands.”
Mullen “aggressively recruited” Roper over the past five months, said agency creative director Edward Boches. “He’s one of the top copywriters in the country; he’s won virtually every creative award in the world, and more importantly, [the ads have been] very effective.” In addition, Boches praised Roper’s love of screenplay writing, which
he said has made him “one of the best dialogue writers working in advertising today.”
Roper reports to Boches and oversees four to five writers and art directors. He partners with art director Rob Rich on accounts that include Northern Light Technologies, Money magazine, Sesame Workshop, Oxygen Media and Monster.com, which is in review. K
