BOSTON Mullen said it has elevated John Moore to evp, director of media services to lead the Interpublic Group agency’s MediaHub unit. He succeeds Steve Calder, who left the shop last month for a post at Hewlett-Packard.
Moore (pictured) has been with Boston-based Mullen for 11 years, most recently leading media innovation and integration efforts for Ask.com, Match.com, Timberland and Orbitz, among others.
Mullen CEO Joe Grimaldi praised Moore as a “huge catalyst for media-creative fusion.”
Moore said the transformation in that direction is not moving fast enough, and he hopes to help clients and agencies embrace the new realities of a data-driven, laser-targeted media world. “Every media professional needs to understand the fluidity and portability of content and that media is about activating experiences that consumers seek out, share and want to talk about,” he said.
All told, MediaHub employs 100 staffers nationwide. Among its most recent notable efforts is a multifaceted campaign for Timberland (done in concert with other shops, including Leagas Delaney), that melds traditional approaches with new-media pizzazz.
