Mullen Appoints Top Marketer

Brad Bennett was promoted to svp and marketing director of Mullen in the wake of January’s Mullen-Long Haymes Carr merger.

In the newly created post, Bennett, previously new business director at LHC, will oversee all new- business development and marketing for the Wenham, Mass., agency and its Winston-Salem, N.C., and Detroit offi ces.

“What we did was consolidate new-business development and marketing into one group,” said Joe Grimaldi, CEO of Mullen, to whom Bennett reports. “Now we can be assured that all three offices are saying and practicing the same thing.”

Bennett, to stay in Winston-Salem, joined LHC in 1995 as an account executive. He became a vp in 1997, overseeing Hanes, Champion and others. In his most recent post, he helped land T.J. Maxx and Journeys, among others.

“I was saddled with the challenge of turning around a new-business group that had become stagnant,” he said, referring to LHC’s losses of Winston and BellSouth Carolina Mobility last year. “My approach is to share information, ask for assistance across the board and make people [on the team] understand where we’re headed.”
