Mullen Adds 4th Managing Partner

CHICAGO Interpublic Group’s Mullen has hired Ross Dobson as a managing partner overseeing digital, direct marketing and analytics, according to the agency.

“Ross is a special talent: a proven business strategist and creative thinker who is focused on leading clients and is immediately embraced and respected by agency peers and associates,” said Joe Grimaldi, chief executive officer of the Wenham, Mass., agency, in a statement. “He has real expertise in the area of digital and direct marketing that will bolster both our stand-alone practice groups and our cross-discipline approach to solving client challenges.”

Dobson was most recently managing director of strategy and enablement at Stone Ward in Little Rock, Ark. Prior to that he spent eight years at Digitas in Boston as a senior vice president overseeing the agency’s FedEx and Terminix business.

Dobson, 40, joins three other managing partners at the agency: Tom Jump, Jim Hartrich and Sheila Leyne. They are all also on the agency’s executive committee, which includes: Grimaldi, chief creative officer Edward Boches, chief financial officer Paul Slack, director of business development Melissa Lea and executive media director Steve Calder.

Mullen’s clients include General Motors, XM Satellite Radio, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, LendingTree, Match.com and T.J. Maxx. The agency also has offices in Winston-Salem, N.C., and Detroit.
