Mufflers and Medicine Converge at VML

CHICAGO VML has added Midas regional marketing as well as Web assignments from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City and the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, according to the agency.

For Midas, the Kansas City, Mo., shop will create a program that will allow regional marketing personnel and franchisees to create customized advertising campaigns. The Web-based “Ad Builder” program will help these regional personnel with print advertisements, freestanding inserts and coupons, according to John Cook, director of client relations at the WPP Group shop.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City tapped the shop to redesign its Web site, bcbskc.com. The shop also will conduct customer research about how the site is used.

The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation similarly enlisted the agency to handle Web portal and content management. The Kansas City-based foundation works with partners to encourage entrepreneurship across the U.S. and improve the educational opportunities of children and youth.

It was unclear whether the wins came as a result of reviews. Billings were not disclosed.
