Here’s how New York Daily News deputy sports editor Tom Biersdorfer concluded an April 7 report about an ongoing faux feud between Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard and team mascot Mr. Met. The chicanery had encompassed a photo of Syndergaard’s mother with Mr. Met on Valentine’s Day and the pitcher, at a press conference, playfully giving Mr. Met the finger:
