Vanessa Duno, a former marketing and research coordinator for AOL Time Warner, joined Horizon Media, New York, as an analyst/planner, a newly created position in the company. In her new role, Duno will be responsible for analyzing Nielsen’s NPower research and marketing input to guide clients in planning on-air promotions for their programming. She will work closely with the media planning, account and research groups and clients. Prior to AOL, Duno worked as a financial analyst for CIBC World Markets.
The following promotions and appointment were made at Chinnici Direct, a division of Margeotes|Fertitta + Partners. Carrie Settle-Kane rose to president of Chinnici Direct; she previously was executive vice president, director of client services. Stacie Wunsch was promoted to senior vice president, business development and client relations; she formerly was a senior vice president, account director. Wendy Wishnie was elevated to executive vice president, executive creative director; she previously served as creative director. Celeste Light was named executive vice president, creative director; she formerly was a senior vice president, design director. Tim McCreight was appointed senior vice president, director of client services; he most recently served as an independent consultant for Chinnici. Chinnici is based in New York.
Richard Rapp was appointed president of The Lord Group. Prior to joining the New York-based agency, he was president of Genova & Partners in Greenwich, Conn. In addition, Shawn Shields and Mary Ann Maier were both promoted to co-creative directors at The Lord Group, which is wholly owned by Spier-New York; Shields and Maier previously were associate creative directors.
Charles Mangano joined Deutsche Asset Management as managing director and head of Private Clients and Asset Management (PCAM) marketing and communications in the Americas. He is based in New York. Mangano most recently served as senior director of brand management at Merrill Lynch. DeAM is a member of the Deutsche Bank Group, which is headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany.
Michael Armstrong was promoted to vice president, affiliate marketing for MTV Networks’ Music Group. He formerly was an account director in MTV Networks’ Chi cago affiliate sales office. Armstrong will now be based in MTV Networks’ New York office. MTV Networks is based in New York.
Nathan Misner joined BOOK magazine in New York as marketing director, a new position. He co-founded Iced Media in New York, where he formerly served as chief operating officer. BOOK is published by West Egg Communications.
Connie Gallo was promoted to New York sales manager for Parade magazine. She joined the publication three months ago as a New York sales representative. In other Parade news, Perry Gaa was named a New York sales representative. He previously was publisher of Dennis Publishing’s The Week. Parade is based in New York.
West Glen Communications hired Julie Ellman as account director. She is based in West Glen’s Chicago office. Ellman formerly served as a senior associate at Burson-Marsteller in Chicago. West Glen is based in New York.
360 Youth, an Alloy company, appointed Charlie Marino vice president, location media. Prior to joining New York-based 360 Youth, he served as an independent consultant to the outdoor-advertising industry. In addition, Patrick Sherry was named vice president, location media sales at 360 Youth. He most recently was senior vice president, sales for Media Vehicles, a GE Capital company. Alloy is based in New York.
Media Logic in Albany hired Lynn White as senior print project manager. She most recently served as print production manager at Blass Communications in Old Chatham.
John Flato joined Bernard Hodes Group as vice president for college staffing solutions, a new position. He is based in the agency’s New York headquarters. Flato previously was national director of university relations at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young. Bernard Hodes Group is a subsidiary of Omnicom Group.
Mark Meisel joined Photosound Communications’ Princeton office as Multimedia Group technical manager. He most recently served as vice president, new media and data services at Quadrant HealthCom. Photosound also has an office in Stansted, England.
Bruce Medd was promoted to executive vice president, managing director at Noesis Healthcare Interactions, CommonHealth’s professional advertising and promotion company located in Morristown. In his new post, he will oversee the direction and implementation of client account strategies and manage various agency-client relationships. He will also serve as a member of Noesis’ management committee. Medd previously was senior vice president, management supervisor at Noesis. In other CommonHealth news, Thomas Ferguson Associates, a CommonHealth advertising and promotion company, promoted Janine Wentz from senior art director to group art director and hired Mark Paolella as a group point person in the Parsippany-based company’s design studio.
