Optimedia International (U.S.) in New York promoted Michael Elkisch to principal account director on the BMW of North America business. He joined the agency three years ago as a regional account man ager, working on BMW. Prior to that, Elkisch served as an independent marketing consultant to BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Optimedia International is a wholly owned subsidiary of Publicis Groupe S.A.
Cognitive Arts Corp. named John Panaccione executive vice president of sales and marketing. Before joining the New York-based com pany, he was at Click2 learn, working as general manager of services in its Needham, Mass., office.
PepperCom, headquartered in New York and San Francisco, named Ann Barlow senior director. She will be based in the shop’s New York office. Barlow previously worked at Mindstorm Communications, an Interpublic Group company, as senior vice president/general manager of the New York office.
Cooper Leder Marketing in Mineola hired two staffers. April Vincent joined as a senior art director; she previously freelanced for companies such as Curran & Connors and The EGC Group. Jasvinder Singh was appointed network engineer; he formerly worked as an MIS specialist and LAN/WAN engineer at Compu Tech Computers.
Ryan Communications promoted Jeanette DiFato to office manager. She joined the Syracuse-based shop in April 2000 as receptionist and retains those duties in her new post.
Roy Oppenheim was appointed a designer at EyeballNYC in New York. He previously freelanced for various companies.
MRA hired two staffers. Laura Cahill was named an account executive in the public relations department; she most recently was a public relations coordinator at Crawford Advertising. Thomasina White was appointed a receptionist. Both hires are based in the shop’s Syracuse office.
The Quantum Group, the consumer advertising and promotion arm of CommonHealth, hired Charlene Horvath Leitner as senior vice president, director, business development. Before joining the Parsip pany-based company, she was a senior vice president, group director with Jordan McGrath Case & Partners in New York. In addition, Robyn Kohn was named senior vice president, strategic development of Health Learning Systems, also a CommonHealth com pany. She most recently was senior vice pres ident, director of business development and strategic planning at MediVia.
Gianettino & Meredith Advertising in Short Hills named Michael Lewis a media planner/buyer, working on Benjamin Moore Paints, Ber tolli Olive Oil, Foster Wheeler Corp. and Resorts Atlantic City Casino Hotel. He previously was a media planner at DKB & Partners.
Rick Tomosky was promoted to network and operations manager at MARC USA/Pitts burgh, responsible for managing the agency’s wide area network. MARC also promoted Brian Brittain to LAN/WAN administrator.
MayoSeitz Media in Blue Bell elevated Shelley Sandberg to media planner/buyer. She most recently was an assistant media planner/buyer and continues to work on the McDonald’s, Greater Philadelphia Tourism and Calico Corners accounts.
The Hal Lewis Group promoted Diane Opalenick to senior art director; she previously was art director at the Philadelphia shop. In addition, Megan McDonald was ap pointed receptionist; she formerly was a customer service representative at TD Waterhouse Investor Services in San Diego.
