A CONNECTICUT Mason & Madison Public Relations has hired two account executives: Jennifer Sabo and Marie Ruzzo. Sabo will manage public relations for Bell Atlantic Mobile and Steven's Roofing Systems. She most recently worked as a media relations specialist at Stanton Crenshaw Communications. Ruzzo will handle public relations for Boston Communications Group and Mitsubishi Electric Information Technology Center America. William and House of Avon has made two additions to its staff. Michael Sjostedt will write copy for newsletters, journals and promotional materials for clients such as Beckett and Strathmore Papers. He previously held positions in the meetings planning and marketing departments at Pharmedia Communications in Killingworth, Conn. Cindy Soucey will manage day-to-day internal operations. She worked in the accounting department at Keiler & Co. in Farmington, Conn., for 11 years. Martino & Binzer has undergone recent management restructuring. Gavin Binzer, evp, has given up the majority of his account management responsibilities and assumed the co-creative director post along with Dan Croci. The Avon shop has hired Scott Porter to establish an account-services department. Porter has 15 years experience at agencies in New York and New England. Joseph Campolieta has joined the firm as marketing director. Campolieta has worked in new business development at agencies including O'Neal & Prelle in Hartford. Adams & Knight Communications, Anvon, has hired Herbert Emanuelson as account manager for financial and interactive clients. He also will lead the new business team and act as account planner for the Avon agency. Emanuelson was previously account manager at Mason & Madison in New Haven, Conn. It also appointed Jason Johnson interactive designer, overseeing Web site and CD-ROM development. Johnson has worked as a graphic designer with Decker and ColorPix Systems of America, both in Glastonbury. Mason & Madison in New Haven has promoted Matthew McGinn to assistant account executive. Previously an account coordinator, McGinn has worked on such agency accounts as Stevens Roofing, Emhart Fastening and Middlesex Mutual Assurance. Source Marketing has appointed Melissa Iannacone assistant account executive. She had been account coordinator with Darien-based Alcone Marketing Group. A MAINE Kim Huard has been promoted from account specialist to director of account services at DW Group in Portland. A MASSACHUSETTS Gearon Hoffman has made three new hires: traffic manager Jennifer Clinton and media buyer/planners Robyn Coran and Karen Solomon. Before joining the Boston firm, Clinton was formerly with Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos in Boston. Coran worked for Hills department stores in Canton, Mass., and in the media departments at Ingalls Advertising and Arnold Communications, both of Boston. Solomon also worked for Arnold, as well as McCann-Erickson and Asher/Gould, both in Los Angeles. Philip Johnson Associates has hired Oriana von Specht as an account manager. She will work on the PE Biosystems account. Before joining the Cambridge-based firm, von Specht worked as an account manager for Publicis Vital in Frankfurt, Germany. SalesLink Corp., a Boston-based division of CMGI, has appointed Julie DeForge senior account executive on the business development team and Jill Davis content developer. DeForge was formerly an account executive with SalesLink Corp., a division of CMGI in Boston. Davis was a public-affairs specialist for New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. Dickinson Direct of Braintree has named Stephanie Granai account manager and promoted associate account managers Christine Vecchio and Liz McCleary-Sills to account manager posts. Granai was most recently an account executive with The J.Jill Group in Hingham. WCVB-TV account executive Peter Morton has been named local sales manager. A four-year veteran of the Needham, Mass., ABC affiliate, Morton will supervise 10 local account executives. He takes over for Jordan Wertlieb, who was promoted to general sales manager of WBAL in Baltimore. Both stations are owned by Hearst-Argyle Television. CGN Marketing & Creative Services has appointed Matt Peck interactive account manager and Russell Moore interactive project leader. Peck joins the Boston firm after working at Lara Consulting Group. Moore was a freelance designer specializing in Web and logo design. Catherine Baker has been hired as a media supervisor at Arnold Communications in Boston. She will work on the American Legacy Foundation, which is planning a national anti-smoking campaign for 2000. Beth Stone has joined Arnold as associate creative director in the agency's direct marketing unit. Steve Yaffe has come aboard as a graphic designer in the group working on Volkswagen of America. Arnold has announced the following promotions: Keith Dezen to senior vice president and executive producer/group head; Bill Goodell to senior vice president and associate director of broadcast production; Shane Hutton, Carl Loeb and David Wiest to senior copywriters; Tim Vaccarino and Don Shelford to senior art directors. Passaic Parc, Wellesley, has added Michael Granoff as vice president of business development. He brings 15 years of sales and marketing expertise to the shop, after building his own design and production company, Eclipse Marketing Group, Needham. The Cambridge, Mass.-based Weber Group has named three directors: Stephanie Torpy, Jennifer Dunlap and Ed Abell. Joining the shop: Stephanie Stegich, senior account executive; Kimberly Devine, account executive; Julie Middelman, assistant account executive; and Joshua Cline, account coordinator. Burst! Media, a Burlington-based agency serving specialty content Web publishers, has named William Burns director of marketing. He joins the firm after 20 years of marcomm experience at the Liberty Mutual Group, where he most recently served as vice president of communications services. Medical agency BBK Communications in Newton has promoted Jack Cavalier to client accounting manager. In this new post, he will be responsible for invoicing, project budget management and technology support. He has been with BBK for five years in various positions, including finance, public relations and technology. The Boston office of American Express Tax and Business Services, a subsidiary of the American Express Co., has hired Shawn Masefield as marketing manager for the New England region. Masefield previously held a similar post at Quadrant Software. Jerry Johnson has joined Boston-based Brodeur Worldwide as senior vice president, overseeing issues management. He recently served as senior vice president at Frederick Schneiders Research in Washington, D.C. Van Schouwen Associates in Springfield has tapped Holly Lawrence as strategic communications specialist and Charlie Higgins as a graphic designer. Trinity Communications in Boston has hired Dave Goodwin as production manager. AK Media in Stoneham has hired Bernie Toole as local sales manager; Andrew Martin as local account managers and Leslie Watton as account manager. Kristen Maynard has joined Corporate Graphics in Westboro as Internet marketing director. She had served as manager of marketing programs for Wright Line of Worcester. Marenghi & Associates, Wellesley Hills, Mass., has promoted Erin Keefe to account director, Jessica Horwitz to account manager and Nicole Goodnow to account executive. The firm also announced the addition of Julie Layden as account executive, Ian Race as account coordinator and Troy Shipley as account coordinator. Seidler Bernstein, a medical agency in Cambridge, has appointed Jennifer Mulkerin to the post of marketing administrator. Direct Results Group, Boston, has hired Steve Panicci as a senior art director and Sharlene Howard as a senior account executive. Israel Scott Alanis has joined the shop as a Web developer. Loretta Cox has been promoted to account supervisor at Target Marketing & Promotions in Boston. Cox heads the UDV account. She had been a senior account manager. Kathleen Rose has joined as an account manager, working on Dr. Pepper/7UP, Gomez.com and others. Conroy Public Relations, Boston, has added Robin Espeleta as pr assistant. A NEW HAMPSHIRE Eastatlantic Advertising has hired Bob LeRette as director of marketing services and Jennifer Hansen as public relations specialist. Before joining the Manchester shop, LeRette served as director of new business at WBCN-FM in Boston. Hansen recently acted as press secretary for the John Kasich presidential campaign in New Hampshire. Prior to that stint, she spent five years as a producer, reporter and anchor at WMUR-TV in Manchester. Carella & Co., North Hampton, has promoted Linda Kirkland from senior art director to creative director. Kirkland joined the North Hampton agency in 1993. The shop has also hired Mark Hartmann as media manager and Diana Pettis as account coordinator. Hartmann is responsible for negotiating, planning and buying for all accounts. The Bedford Granite Group has promoted Heidi Book to account executive and Gail Gullo to production manager and media buyer. Book began her career at the Bedford firm as an intern in 1993 and has held the positions of media planner, media director, production manager and account-services director. Gullo has been with the shop for almost a year following her job as media buyer at Stal-McLane in Manchester. A RHODE ISLAND Stauch Vetromile & Mitchell, a high-tech shop in Providence, has hired Jill Arquette as a senior public relations account executive. She was recently with Fleishman-Hillard Public Relations in Washington, D.C., where she spearheaded initiatives for America Online and other accounts. Tori Kronhaus has joined RDW Group of Providence as an account executive.
