NEW YORK Mariah Media promoted associate publisher Scott Parmelee to publisher of Outside magazine in New York. Parmelee joined the Santa Fe, N.M.-based publisher as New England sales representative in 1987. Lisa Pfitzner, formerly vice president and senior art director at McCann Relationship Marketing, ad-vanced to vice president and associate creative director at the New York-based company. Ammirati Puris Lintas in New York formed an executive committee to manage its global agency network. The six members are: Martin Puris, APL's chairman, chief executive and chief creative officer; Vincent Lubrano, chief financial officer; Philip Palazzo, president of international operations; Don Parker, chief human resources officer; Terry Rosenquist, president, multinational clients and business development; and Marie-Josƒ Forissier, chairman and chief executive of independent subsidiary Initiative Media Worldwide. Forissier was also named president of media communications for the global network. Marcos Golfari, regional vice president and chairman of the Latin American executive committee, was elected to the Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide board of directors in New York. A 19-year veteran of J. Walter Thompson's international agency network, Golfari joined Ogilvy & Mather in 1996 as head of operations in Argentina, where he continues to be based. Merkley Newman Harty in New York signed Janet Klineman, former senior vice president and senior strategic planner at Wells BDDP, as senior account planner on its PSE&G business. Jennifer Getschmann, who joined MNH in May 1994, advanced to account manager on the agency's National Thoroughbred Racing Association assignment. Justin Orlando assumed the newly created position of senior vice president and director of human resources services at The MacManus Group in New York. Cliff Freeman and Partners in New York added six staffers to its creative department: Eric Silver and Jeff Bitsack, vice presidents and senior copywriters; Vince Aamodt, Kilpatrick Anderson and Sally Overheu, senior art directors; and Adam Chasnow, senior copywriter. Kathi Doolan, advertising director of American Express Publishing's Departures magazine in New York for the past six years, moved up to vice president and associate publisher of the periodical. The One Club for Art & Copy in New York recently made two personnel appointments: manager of exhibitions Beth Friedman and director of interactive marketing Kevin Swanepoel. Kamy Rizzo progressed to publisher of the SRDS Consumer Magazine Advertising Source in New York. In her new position, Rizzo will oversee display advertising sales for the sourcebook. Blum/Herbstreith in New York welcomed Jamie Gallo as account director and Jena Cohen as account executive. Previously, Gallo worked at Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG and Cohen was at Goldman Sachs. Barbara Hertz Friedmann was named director of marketing at Miller Publishing Group in New York. Before joining Miller, Friedmann was vice president of marketing at The Parenting Group of Time Inc. Chief Executive magazine in New York hired Don Cummings as sales manager. Previously, Cummings was publisher of Managed Healthcare. Iain Greenway was appointed vice president and creative director at TZ, formerly known as Telezign. TZ, a production and animation facility, is a division of National Video Center/Recording Studio in New York. Lebhar-Friedman in New York tapped Gregg Cebrzynski marketing editor of Nation's Restaurant News. Cebrzynski joins the magazine from the American Marketing Association, where he was managing editor of Marketing News. Howie Lipstein, former director of market research at Sony Corp., was designated general manager of Goldfarb Consulting in New York. New York-based USAData.com enlisted Alan Trugman, a 13-year veteran of Scarborough Research, as executive vice president of sales and marketing. NEW JERSEY Einson Freeman in Paramus assigned Ronald Young as an account supervisor on its Reynolds Metals business. Previously, Young held the same title at Alcone Marketing Group. Rick Hansen became director of public relations at Gillespie in Princeton. The company also named Casey Cruser and Amy Strathern public relations account coordinators. Fusion Advertising & Communications in Cranbury promoted Mary Jo Coyle to director of client services. Coyle has held various account services posts at the agency for the past five years. Pam Snook was appointed director of public relations at KPMG Consulting, a unit of KPMG Peat Marwick, in Montvale. PENNSYLVANIA Stiegler, Wells & Brunswick in Bethlehem added Scott Byers as a senior copywriter. Previously, Byers was a copywriter at Henderson Advertising in Greenville, S.C. Willner Park, former vice president of marketing at Infinicom International Corp., arrived at Devon Direct Marketing & Advertising in Berwyn as management supervisor. The company also named Elizabeth Webb vice president of human resources. Webb has been Devon Direct's director of human resources since 1996 and a member of the agency's management committee. Tierney & Partners in Philadelphia, a unit of True North Communications, promoted Paula Yphantes to senior account executive and Dawn Soisson to media planner. The shop also hired Jennifer Bontrager as assistant account executive and Rafael Haciski as assistant media planner.
