Laura Davis-Irish has joined Garrand and Co. in Lewiston as copywriter. She was formerly a teacher in Turner, where she taught writing, art history and drama. She will work with clients in the social and public-policy area.
Boston-based Pagano Schenck & Kay has named Kevin Daley art director. Daley was previously an art director at Greenberg Seronick O’Leary & Partners, also in Boston, where he worked for clients such as True Temper Golf Shafts, LoJack, Etonic and Portfolio.
Sean Tracey Associates in Boston has hired Kristen Vermilyea as production manager and casting director. Vermilyea has been running Kristen Vermilyea Casting for the past four years.
The Boston office of Karakas VanSickle Ouellette Communications has hired Roger Bentley as vice president and general manager and David Lubell as senior account executive. Bentley joins KVO from Digital Equipment Corp., where he served as director of external communications. Lubell was most recently account manager at Bridgeman Communications in Boston, where he worked with clients such as Raytheon Systems Co., Texas Instruments and GE Capital.
David Grady has been named senior editor in the editorial services group at Boston-based Brodeur Porter Novelli. Grady was most recently an account supervisor in the interactive department of Lehman Millet in Boston. The agency also has promoted Kara Martel to senior account executive and Jennifer Boyer, Michael Croce, Ryan Hoppe and Heather Mulcahy to account executives.
Patricia Keefe, Gail Robinson Nichols, Jessica Hamermesh and Nicole Collins have joined Boston-based Parents’ Plus. Keefe, formerly publisher of the Guest Informant and The Quick Guide, is a sales director; Nichols, now senior account executive, most recently served as an advertising executive at The Boston Globe; Hamermesh, previously a child-care coordinator at Parents United for Child Care, is account executive; Collins, a marketing coordinator, was previously with the Lyons Group.
Cone Communications in Boston has hired Diane Nahra as account director. She had been in the public relations department at Reebok International in Stoughton. Cone’s New York office has promoted Shelley Bates from senior account executive to account manager and has hired Meghan Kelley as an account executive. Bates works on the Daytimers, iVillage.com, The Mining Co. and Shop.org accounts. Kelley was most recently with Fleishman-Hillard in Chicago, where she worked on Lands End, ComDisco and CellularOne.
Marenghi & Associates, a high-tech public relations firm in Wellesley, has hired Loren Guertin as senior account manager, Deirdre Gobeille Snyder as account executive and Tracy Wilson as business coordinator. Guertin was previously an account manager at Cunningham Communication for nearly four years, managing the Motorola, Xerox and Lexmark International accounts. Gobeille Snyder was previously the marketing manager for CNN International in Latin America. Wilson was previously an allocation analyst at TJX Corp.
CPS Direct in Woburn has promoted Shawn Pothier, Ron Lavallee and Paul Moccia. Pothier, previously vice president of graphic services, was advanced to senior vice president, graphics and creative services. Prior to joining the company 10 years ago, he was a vice president at Precision Graphics and operated a print creative firm, Industrial Promotions and Printers. Lavalee, previously information systems director, was promoted to vice president of information technology. He joined the firm in 1997 from Paraxel International, where he served as director of North America IS operations.
